Fire Rated Partitions
Achieving the right fire resistance rating for a particular space requires careful selection of the right fire rated partition assembly for the job, installation by a trained professional and careful inspection of the final product.
J.A. Macdonald’s fire rated partitions may contain glass batt or mineral wool insulation, and offer numerous options to separate spaces. We source and install type “X” or type “C” wallboard — with options of 1/2″ or 5/8″ thicknesses — to integrate with various forms of construction. For locations that are inaccessible from both sides (e.g., elevators), shaft wall assemblies offer an equal degree of fire resistance with thinner walls.
All assemblies are tightly sealed with fire-stop caulking around the perimeter to prevent smoke transfer and fire penetration.
